Metro, Thursday May 2th 2024, SMAN 2 Metro held a ceremony to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas), this ceremony was attended by teachers, employees and students. During the ceremony, teachers and employees wore traditional Indonesian clothing, while the students wore full school uniforms. As the headmaster of the ceremony, Mr. Ali Kurniawan, S.HI., M.Pd.. delivered a speech from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture to commemorate National Education Day 2024. "Education is very important in the progress of the nation and state as well as the welfare of our lives. "So, we have to become educated people," Mr. Ali said and closing his speech at the ceremony. This National Education Day has the theme "Moving Together to Continue Free Learning."

This ceremony was held as a form of government concern for the importance of education in this country. Apart from that, what the government has done to realize this goal is by establishing a Flag Ceremony to commemorate National Education Day. The ceremony was held so that all educational people would remember the philosophy of the values of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's struggle in upholding the foundations of education in Indonesia. Through education, Indonesia will be much better, because education is what will create the nation's next generation with quality and competence. This time the ceremony also very well, after the ceremony activities were finished, teaching and learning activities continued as usual.
